Duct leakage testing for your HVAC project
A duct leakage test measures air escaping from the duct system. For a compliance project, the applicable test and documentation depend on the work being performed and the project requirements. We review those details before the visit so you know what service is included and what needs to be ready.
Whether you are replacing equipment, completing an alteration, or working toward project closeout, send the available permit and compliance information. We will confirm how duct leakage testing fits into the agreed scope of your HERS/ECC and Title 24 verification.
What to send when requesting a quote
Include the job city, property type, number of HVAC systems, a short description of the work, and the current installation or inspection stage. If you have a permit number, compliance documents, or an inspection correction notice, mention those in your inquiry. Homeowners can provide their contractor’s contact information when coordination is needed.
We review access, equipment readiness, the testing scope, and any paperwork needed before confirming a visit. A website inquiry does not reserve a time on the calendar; Eddie confirms availability and the appointment directly.
Testing, results, and follow-up
Before the visit: We confirm the project details, preparation, scope, and price. Let us know if another inspection or a contractor’s schedule affects the timing.
At testing: We perform the agreed duct leakage test and explain the result. The service is testing and verification; duct installation, sealing, and repair are not included.
After testing: We explain any required follow-up and coordinate the applicable verification documentation. If corrections are needed, the responsible contractor completes that work before retesting is arranged.
Testing and duct cleaning are different services
Duct cleaning removes accumulated debris. Duct leakage testing evaluates leakage. Cleaning does not replace a required compliance test. If your goal is cleaning rather than verification, visit our air duct cleaning page.
